Doesjka van Hoogdalem has been working in Dutch Film and Television since 1997.

After an internship project for the Master's degree in Cultural Management at the VARA program "Karin", she started working as a producer for the various VARA programs. Her move to Pannekoek Productions, the production company of director Jop Pannekoek, also gave her the opportunity to master other functions in the television profession. She worked as a switching technician, First Directors Assistent, assistant director, sound and camera operator, editor and item director. Jop Pannekoek, the specialist in theater registrations, has been a teacher for van Hoogdalem, his way of translating a theater performance into a television program can still be seen in her own registrations.

In 2000 she met director Theo van Gogh while working on a theater registration and this collaboration continued in disciplines new to Doesjka; television drama and feature film. Together they made four feature films, two drama series and a few single plays, all according to the "van Gogh method", in which scenes are shot with three cameras simultaneously. As his assistant and creative consultant, she was his third eye and that is how she also learned her directing skills. After his brutal murder in 2004, Column Productions started “the Triple Theo Remake Project”. Doesjka was deeply involved in this project from the beginning, serving as a creative consultant on Steve Buscemi's “Interview” and Stanly Tucci's “Blind Date.” In 2005, Doesjka directed her first feature film “Oorlogsrust” for Column Film, based on a screenplay by Theodor Holman.

Since 2006, Doesjka has also worked for television as a director. Her CV includes many theater recordings, documentaries, video clips, Dutch television programs and International Televisie shows like the NETFLIX special 'Comedians around the world' and the MTV Show The Challenge Reunions season 39 and 40.  As one of Column Two's regular directors, she directed commercials for UNETO.

She would like to talk about her experiences in the Film and Television profession in a workshop or a guest lecture. For the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences she organized a workshop with the aim of making a short documentary and a commercial by economics students and for the ROC in Hilversum she supervises the "Talkshow" project where students learn to produce a talk show. Since February 2020, she has also been a guest lecturer at the HBO Film and Audiovisual Media course, part of the NAVB in Amsterdam and Eindhoven.

In short, Doesjka van Hoogdalem is a versatile director who enjoys working with her team of experienced people, who operate as a unit to make every project as special and beautiful as possible.
